Dynamo Camp is the first summer camp in Italy to be structured specifically for children with serious or chronic illnesses who are currently in therapy or in a post-hospitalization convalescence. The Camp is free of charge for children between the ages of 7 and 16 who live in Italy, although future development will open the camp to children from other European nations as well.
MISSION Dynamo Camp offers children the opportunity to enjoy their childhood once again through a program that will lead them to regain trust in themselves and their own potential. In the future, the Camp will also be able to offer specific programmes for both parents and the healthy siblings of these children, involving the entire family that has had to deal with the illness.

Dynamo Camp belongs to the Association of the Hole in The Wall Camps, an association of structures throughout the world that promote and manage summer camps designed specifically for children who suffer from more than 40 serious or chronic diseases. Each Camp is an independent entity born of the dream of actor Paul Newman, founder of the first camp of this kind in Connecticut (USA) in 1988, which has become the inspiring force of these therapeutic experiences for sick children. Children suffering from serious or chronic diseases can participate in Camps and enjoy the simple wonders of childhood without compromising their need for advanced medical care, thanks to the constant presence of Camp health care professionals. In this way, in 2007 alone, 11,000 sick children had a truly enjoyable experience. All children can enjoy the Camp experience free of charge, thanks to generous contributions from individuals, societies, foundations, and other organisations
There are Camps in the United States, where there are five structures (Connecticut, New York State, North Carolina, California, Florida), in Great Britain, in Ireland and in France and in Hungary; an other one is set to open in Israel in 2009. The Hole in the Wall Camps Association also promotes similar programs in Africa and other areas of the world.
